Teacher, encourager and administrator are a few descriptive terms of the life and ministry of Elder Michael Cuba, Jr. Because of his unique presentation of the Word of God, his devotion to preach a simple message for the time and his compelling desire for the Word of God to be learned and applied in the lives of young people and adults; he has been officially deemed “a spiritual motivator”.
Elder Michael Cuba Jr. was born to the union of Mr. Michael Cuba Sr. and District Missionary Delphine Cuba. He attended private and public schools in Calcasieu Parish and is a proud 2006 honor graduate of Lake Charles-Boston High School; which he serves as the Class President. Elder Cuba accepted his call to ministry during his early teenage years under the leadership of Superintendent Ivanhoe Terry. He officially received his Minister’s License on August 20, 2006. In 2008, Elder Cuba completed the C.H. Mason Bible College after three years of inductive study. On July 30, 2009, Elder Cuba was officially consecrated and ordained as an Elder in the Church of God in Christ via the First Jurisdiction of Louisiana by his jurisdictional prelate, Bishop Roy L.H. Winbush, General Board Member- Church of God in Christ, Inc.
Under the tutelage of Superintendent Ivanhoe Terry and Evangelist Ruby Terry, he served in several capacities, Pastoral Assistant, Clerical Administrator, Youth Minister, Sunday School Teacher, and Usher. On the district level, he serves as District Executive Secretary and District Youth President.
Because of his humility and servitude, Bishop Roy L.H. Winbush appointed him to serve as the Area Two Coordinator of the State Ministerial Coalition and as a Jurisdictional Adjutant. Upon the Bishop’s recommendation, he was inducted into the National Adjutancy of the Church of God in Christ, which serves the office of the International Presiding Bishop, His Eminence, Bishop Charles E. Blake. In January 2011, Bishop Winbush once again elevated Elder Cuba to the Office of Administrative Aide to the Office of the Bishop, being the youngest to ever serve in this capacity. Upon the heavenly transition of Superintendent Ivanhoe Terrry,his mentor and Pastor, Bishop Winbush appointed Elder Cuba to the pastorate of Saints Memorial Church of God in Christ (now Saints Cathedral) on August 6, 2014. Every opportunity afforded to him to minister or serve is a clear demonstration of the power of God revealed through this yielded vessel. He is anointed for this hour, prepared for this season and conditioned for this NOW generation.
Elder Cuba serves in ministry with his wife, Missionary Milena Jean-Baptiste Cuba. Elder Cuba earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government/Pre-Law from McNeese State University, a Master’s degree in Teacher Leadership from Louisiana College and is currently pursing a Masters +30 degree in Educational Administration and Supervision.
Elder Cuba is an accomplished Community & Political Analyst. He has been afforded the privilege to share with dignitaries such as Governors Jindal, Blanco, and Roemer, Judge Joe Brown, Martin Luther King III, Dr. Robert Franklin, numerous corporate CEOs, U.S. Generals at West Point Academy and many others. He serves in the city of Lake Charles as a youth advisor to Mayor Randy Roach on the Southwest Louisiana Taskforce. He formally served as an Impact AmeriCorps Member; volunteering over 1800 hours to community activities, hurricane recovery, tutoring elementary school students and mentoring local youth across the state of Louisiana.
